About Me

Hi, my name is Maddy.  I live on a dairy farm in Ontario.  I'm starting this blog for a school project.  At school we're working on passion projects.  A passion project is where you work on something you're passionate about for an hour once a week.  You need to have a driving question, information and present it in some capasity.  My driving question was "How do I better inform the world about my life?".  So after some thought and help from my family and peers, I decided to blog about it.  I'm going to blog every friday about that weeks events and post pictures to help you guys see that dairy farmers aren't the bad guys but the good guys. 

 

    It surpise's me how little the average person knows about dairy farmers.  Most people are from generations of farmers, which doesn't surprise me.  Everyday information to me is usually something new to someone else.  So I'm sitting down at the computer and getting to work.

 

    I'm the 8th generation on my farm.  My family moved here in the 1800's and started a farm on the other road and moved to my road built the farm my family works on now.  We're a bicentenual farm and the oldest farm in L&A County.  Since then my family's always had Holstiens.  We're still 99.5 percent holstien with one half jersey/holstein (we make an exception for Brittany).
